Multiple Car Fires Break Out At Popular Long Island Mall

An investigation is underway after multiple car fires broke out at a popular Long Island mall.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Roosevelt Field Mall located at 630 Old Country Road in East Garden City.

That's when Nassau County Police Department Third Precinct officers responded to a call for multiple vehicles on fire in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The vehicles were parked and unoccupied at the time of the incident, police said.

There were no injuries reported.

The East Garden City and Westbury Fire Departments responded. Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and Fire Marshals were also at the scene.

"The fire does not appear to be suspicious at this time," said police.
